Your role

The Mechanical Design Engineer has a pivotal role in the product creation process. You work in close cooperation with other mechanical-,, electrical- and software-engineers. The role includes the development of components and systems. The product requirements are defined together with a systems architect. Creativity when it comes to manufacturability and low cost engineering are essential for this job.

Tasks and responsibilities

·   Lead the design and development of mechanical components and systems, focusing on cost-effectiveness, and performance optimisation.

·   Generate detailed 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and specifications for manufacturing of the developed systems.

·   Evaluate and select materials and manufacturing processes, for components and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

·   Conduct structural and thermal analyses to assess the performance, reliability, and safety of stack designs, and implement necessary improvements.

·   Drive continuous improvements to enhance the manufacturability, quality, and cost-effectiveness.

·   Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing partners and resolve technical issues.

Requirements

  • HELIXONS ·   A bachelor or master’s level degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a similar field
  • HELIXONS ·   This medior-level position requires creative technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a proven track record in mechanical engineering, preferably related to high volume production
  • HELIXONS ·   High level of proficiency in working with 3D CAD Systems (Experience with Unigrapahics NX is a pre) Experience with structural FEM analysis (Experience with FEM in NX is a pre)
  • HELIXONS Ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • HELIXONS Interest in following training courses
  • HELIXONS A flexible attitude and willingness to perform work on location at customer premises (several days per week)
  • HELIXONS You can easily communicate with your clients and colleagues in English
  • HELIXONS ·   Knowledge of and experience with: design principles, V-model design, and dFMEA
  • HELIXONS ·   ·   Capable of managing multiple tasks with the ability to guide, prioritize and execute these with limited supervision
  • HELIXONS ·   ·   Capable of designing, optimizing, and implementing mechanical solutions
